Kickoff Post

So,

Like in 2006, I shall try and do a blog, perhaps daily, potentially weekly, during the World Cup.

The 19th Football World Cup starts June 11 2010 in South Africa.  This is sixth World Cup that I have been aware of and have followed (or will be following).  

Italia '90 was my first.

I'm super excited about this, because it's football and it's the World Cup.  A quadrennial celebration of footballing brilliance.

I'm also intrigued because there are several smaller no heavyweight nations who might do well.  This is good for the game and makes things more interesting.

So, I hope things both start and end well.
